Nominated by the White House for Immigrant Heritage Month

Sagar was nominated by the White House for Immigrant Heritage Month in 2016 for founding a grassroots organization called F.I.R.E. (Fighting for Immigrant Rights & Equality) at the age of 20 in Louisville, KY. Through his leadership, he built intersectionality across movements such as LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, and Black Lives Matter. His dedication to creating safe spaces for immigrants and underserved communities ultimately gained national recognition.
